Ipeta (DRIED)

Ipeta (commonly spelled Ìpẹ̀ta) is the Yoruba name for Securidaca longepedunculata, famously known in English as the Violet Tree. In Hausa, it is highly revered as Uwar Magunguna (meaning “Mother of all medicines”), and in Igbo, it is called Ezeogwu or Uturukpa. It is considered one of the most powerful and multi-functional roots in West African traditional herbal medicine (Olóògùn Àbíníbí).

The roots (Egbo Ipeta), root bark, and leaves contain highly potent active compounds—including xanthones, saponins, methyl salicylate, and flavonoids—which provide several distinct health benefits
